So many times I've heard from campers that "if they only had a better camera" they could take amazing photos. Friends, I am here to tell you that you can take amazing photos with whatever camera you have, even if it's an inexpensive or outdated phone camera. It's honestly not about the camera you have, but about how you use it. This camp is packed full of great tips and tricks for getting the most out of your camera's phone, even if you don't have the latest and greatest model!

I spent way too many years wishing I could have gone to photography school instead of college. One day, I started being proactive in my photography journey and found classes to take on my own, and started learning as much as I could online. What do I need to know about this camp?

  • You'll need some tech...

    A smartphone or tablet with a camera, and two apps (the free version of each): Snapseed and PicTapGo+. Ashley will use an iPhone camera for instruction, but any smartphone or tablet camera will work as most of the camp is based upon composition, lighting and photo editing. Our Intermediate course will focus on custom camera settings. Please check out our FAQ page for additional required technology.

  • When can I access this camp?

    You'll receive access for one camper to both of these camps and their Community Groups in summer 2022. Check back for more info soon!

    • Why is light so important, good light vs. bad light, outdoor light, and indoor light, as well as how to create light at home using what you have.

    • Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines, Symmetry, and Patterns.

    • Fill the frame, background issues, and workflow: wide shot, mid shot and close up.
