Online Learning Platform & Access
Platforms Used
To make camps and courses streamlined and easy to use, we are running all camps and courses through the Thinkific Labs Inc. (Thinkific) platform. Thinkific is a platform with secure logins for each person, where participants can access their own camp or course videos, digital downloads, and secure Community Group all in one place.
From time to time, participants and/or camper’s parents may receive email communications through Google Email (Gmail) about camp or course reminders, progress, etc.
Access
Camps and courses are not lifetime access and are only able to be accessed in a timeframe given on the sales page for each particular course, camp, or bundle.
Pre-Purchased Camps and Courses
Camp Partridge strives to communicate effectively with our participants. Some courses and camps are available immediately upon purchase, while others are sold prior to release.
If you’ve purchased a course or camp not yet released, Camp Partridge will send you at least one email reminder about your course or camp opening, often we will send several reminders. This reminder email will be sent to the participant email we have on file that was used to set up the account.
Camp Partridge encourages you to follow the procedures in the email section above so that you will not miss any communications. Camp Partridge is not liable for missed communications due to sending errors from the email service, or due to an email service not delivering the email to a different email folder. For best practices, follow our tips above, and always feel free to reach out to us at any time with questions.
How Camps and Courses Run
Camp Partridge is run 100% online and does not meet in person. Camp sessions and courses are both conducted via the Thinkific platform through pre-recorded video lessons, handouts, projects, and some camps or courses may also include access to a Community Group.
-Camps and courses are self-paced. Participants simply log in to their Thinkific account and may complete modules and assignments at any time of day.
-The participant will have access to the camp/course and its materials for the timeframe stated on the website.
-Camp Partridge is not responsible for reminding participants to complete materials in the timeframe given.
Note: Summer 2021 Campers will be reminded weekly in the camp’s Community Group to stay on track with work.
Online Safety
Camp Partridge works hard to ensure that our online learning platform is a safe and secure place for campers and course participants to engage with others.
Most of the camp and course work is done on your own, through video lessons and projects. There is one interactive feature some courses and camps have access to: a closed Community Group through our Thinkific site (similar to a closed Facebook group where only members enrolled in the course or camp may participate).
We expect all campers and course participants to abide by our Participant Expectations at all times while engaging online. At the beginning of each course or camp, participants are required to read/view safety and expectations slideshows before they begin their learning.
If we find that campers or course participants are not adhering to the expectations set forth by Camp Partridge, they may be removed from any courses, camps, and/or Community Groups they are a part of without prior notice. Please see our Refunds section on this page for more information.
Our instructor Ashley will be engaging with participants as much as possible, but unfortunately cannot hang out around the Community Group 24 hours a day. By purchasing this course or camp, you are aware that may include access to a closed Community Group that is not fully moderated by Camp Partridge. By purchasing any of these camps or courses, you assume any risk resulting from your participation or your child’s participation in the Community Group.
Participant Expectations
-Participants are expected to be kind, encouraging, and safe in all communications (including but not limited to: text, images, and videos) in the Community Group and Lesson Discussions.
-Always assume positive intentions.
-Participants are responsible for anything and everything that they post.
-Participants are encouraged to engage with the Community Group and respond to Lesson Discussions in the modules throughout the course or camp.
-No bullying, rude, or offensive language, images, or videos including, but not limited to, racist, sexist, classist, political, religious, homophobic, and transphobic speech are tolerated.
-Sharing of links, videos, or materials provided by Camp Partridge with anyone else is prohibited. Sharing any screenshots or screencasts of any portion of the camp, course, or Community Group is also strictly forbidden.
-No promoting or advertising allowed.
-Any videos, photos, or images posted in the Community Group, Lesson Discussions, or Profile Photos containing people must adhere to the Appropriate Clothing Guidelines below and all of the Participant Expectations.
-Participants are asked to report any rule breaking immediately to Ashley privately via email at [email protected]..
Community Groups & Lesson Discussions
Community Groups
Community groups are one of the places where participants interact with each other in a secure online setting. It is similar to a closed Facebook group. It is a place to share work, share celebrations, get feedback, and get questions answered by the community and by Ashley. Participants can post photos, videos, posts, questions, comments, or replies.
Lesson Discussions
Individual lessons within a course or camp may also have a discussion thread enabled. This feature will allow for participants to post, comment, and reply to others in the course or camp. This feature helps make our courses and camps more interactive and enhance learning.
Our lead instructor Ashley will be engaging with participants in both the Community Groups and the Lesson Discussions to help them navigate the online experience, to connect with them, and answer as many questions as she can, but Ashley will not be fully monitoring the closed Community Groups or Lesson Discussions attached to courses and camps. (Unfortunately, Ashley cannot be hanging around the digital community areas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.)
Please be aware that camps or courses may include access to a closed Community Group or Lesson Discussions that are not fully moderated by Camp Partridge. By purchasing any of these camps or courses, the purchaser assumes any risk resulting from the participant’s involvement in the closed group. Although Camp Partridge works hard to keep our camps and courses a safe space, outside forces are sometimes at play. Parents and/or participants agree to hold harmless Camp Partridge for other participant’s postings and for potential outside cyber-attacks to the community groups.
Camp Partridge reserves the right to delete any submission to the Community Group or Lesson Discussion area, including but not limited to posts, comments, replies, images, and videos if we deem that the submission is inappropriate in any way and/or violates any of the Participant Expectations. It is up to the discretion of Camp Partridge alone if the submission is inappropriate.
If you notice a violation of Participant Expectations as described above, that has not already been dealt with, please email Ashley immediately at [email protected] so that she can take prompt action according to the policies here on our Terms of Service page.
Profile Photos
Profile photos are a good way to get to know others. Showing a little bit about who you are helps others get to know you. This is especially important in our camps and courses with Community Groups and Lesson Discussions.
However, your Profile Photo needs to be appropriate and follow the rules listed under Participant Expectations. Our online community is not a social media page and you may not post just any photo. The goal of our community is to be kind and encouraging. This means we all strive to make the group as inclusive as possible. Make sure your profile photo matches these expectations.
Technology Requirements
The materials and technology requirements listed below are the responsibility of the camper to obtain prior to the beginning of their registered camps or courses.
Some of our camps and courses require additional technology or materials in order to fully access all learning presented. These additional materials, technology and access are listed on each corresponding course or camp page on our website for your convenience. These are also listed on the FAQ page of our website. Please note that the technology items listed are not included in the camp fee and are the responsibility of the participant to obtain before the course or camp starts in order to fully access all materials and learning.

Some camps will also have project pages or handouts available. Campers may print these handouts or project pages, or they may just view them digitally if a printer is not available.
Appropriate Clothing Guidelines
Camp Partridge acknowledges our participant’s need for individuality and that clothing can be one expression of individuality. However, as our camp and course participants are diverse in many ways, we’ve created some guidelines to help all participants feel safe and comfortable during their time interacting in the Community Groups and Lesson Discussions.
In the spirit of creating a community of mutual respect, comfort, kindness, and caring for one another, Camp Partridge has created Appropriate Clothing Guidelines for any photo or video (including profile photos) posted in any of our Community Groups or Lesson Discussions. These guidelines apply to the participant posting, as well as any other people appearing in the images, photos, or videos they post.

All people in images and videos must:

Disclaimer
While Camp Partridge does its very best to keep our participants safe with regards to our instruction, participants (and parents of minor participants) are solely responsible for their personal safety as well as the safety of their equipment throughout the duration of any camp or course they attend.
Camp Partridge is not responsible for any issues arising from personal safety, hardware, or software problems/issues due to suggestions, information, or ideas provided by Camp Partridge in any of our courses or camps.
Refunds
Due to the digital nature of our products, camps and course purchases are not refundable.
Misconduct and Refunds
It is our sincere hope and goal that we do not have misconduct issues during our camps and courses.
1. Course or camp participants found to be sharing links, videos or any content provided by Camp Partridge to anyone else may be removed from the camp or course in question, forfeiting the rest of the enrollment duration of the course without refund.
-Campers may also be removed from future camps or courses for which they are registered. No refund will be given for any removal by Camp Partridge due to misconduct.
Note: this includes sharing camp spaces between 2 or more participants, even within the same family.
2. If a participant violates any of the camp’s Participant Expectations when engaging in the Community Group, they will still have access to the videos and materials in the camp or course but will be removed from the camp or course's Community Group. It is left to the discretion of Camp Partridge if the camper may return to a Community Group in the future.
-If participants are involved in multiple Community Groups, they may be removed from all Community Groups for their actions in one of the Community Groups.
-No refund in part or in whole will be given to the camper for removal from a Community Group due to participant misconduct.
3. If a participant violates any of the camp’s Participant Expectations when engaging in the Lesson Discussions within camp or course modules, they may be removed from the camp or course. This determination is left to the discretion of Camp Partridge based upon the misconduct.
-If participants are involved in multiple camps or courses, they may be removed from all camps or courses for their actions in one of the camps or courses.
-No refund in part or in whole will be given to the participant for removal from current or future camps or courses due to the participant’s misconduct.
4. If a participant violates the Participant Expectations about appropriate profile photos, the participant will be notified via their email on file of the violation and will be asked to change their photo. If the participant refuses to change their photo within 24 hours, they may be suspended or removed from the camp’s community group, or potentially the camp or course.
-If participants are involved in multiple camps or courses, they may be removed from all camps or courses for their actions in one of the camps or courses.
-No refund in part or in whole will be given to the participant for removal from current or future camps or courses due to the participant’s misconduct.
-If a participant has changed their profile photo and reaches back out to Camp Partridge within their given camp or course timeframe, they may return to their camps or courses, and possibly their community groups. This is dependent upon the type of violation and sole discretion of return is made by Camp Partridge. If a return is granted, the participant will not be given additional time to make up for time lost due to their violation.
-For example: If a camp runs from June 1-June 30, and a participant loses access to their camps due to a violation from June 2-June 5, their camps will still end on June 30. They will not receive an extra 4 days of access due to their violation of the Participant Expectations.
Materials and Refunds
-It is the purchaser's obligation to read the Technology & Materials Requirements on our FAQ page as well as all course descriptions carefully before purchase.
-Some courses and camps require additional technology to utilize all parts of the course/camp.
-No refunds will be given for lack of materials or technological capability after the course or camp has been purchased.
Unforeseen Events and Refunds
-If Camp Partridge experiences an unforeseen event such as sickness, death in the family, technology or internet failure, or is for any reason not able to complete content for camps or courses before their promised date, campers will be offered a refund of their original tuition payments for camps or courses cancelled by Camp Partridge.
-For individual courses or camps cancelled, participants will be refunded the purchase price.
-If cancelled camps or courses were a part of a bundle, but not all courses or camps were cancelled, participants will only be refunded for the camps or courses that were cancelled. If a camp or course refunded is part of a bundle, it will be refunded at the purchase price of the particular course(s) being refunded, not to exceed a percentage of the purchase price. If the other courses in the bundle were still provided by Camp Partridge, those courses will not be refunded.
-If a refund is granted by Camp Partridge, pursuant to reasons described in this section, it will typically be made within 7-14 business days of the course cancellation.
For example:
-If you purchased our Smartphone Photography bundle for $400 that included both the Foundations of Smartphone Photography ($200) and Intermediate Smartphone Photography ($200) camps, and Camp Partridge only cancelled the Intermediate Smartphone Photography Camp, you would be refunded $200.
-If that same bundle was on sale for 50% off, and you paid $200 total for the discounted bundle ($100 for the Foundations of Smartphone Photography and $100 for the Intermediate Smartphone Photography camp), you would only be refunded $100.
Use of Participant Submissions
Camp Partridge likes to show current participants how to fully use our features and give inspiration for things that could be created. We also like to show future participants what our camps and courses look like, and the wonderful things that have been created through our instruction!
From time to time, Camp Partridge may use items from the closed Community Group or Lesson Discussions in the future for education or advertising purposes. This may include, but is not limited to, quotes from participants, screenshots or screencasts of conversations in the Community Group or Lesson Discussions (excluding profile photos and profile names), examples of participant work, which may include photos of work or digital uploads, and feedback from surveys. Any content that participants upload or put in a message to the Community Group or emailed to our camp instructor Ashley may be used.
The purpose of the Camp's usage of these items will be focused on (but not limited to) showing future and current participants how to access materials, how to participate in discussions, showing examples of projects created, demonstrating the general atmosphere of the camp/course, demonstrating participant successes, showing how camps and courses run, showing examples of best practices, etc. These items could be shared in closed Community Groups, on our website, or used for advertising.
Camp Partridge cares about you and your child's safety online and will not publicly post a photo of any participant’s face or profile name, unless specific permission in writing has been obtained by Camp Partridge. If you would prefer for the camp to not use you or your child's content as described in this section, please notify us in writing via email at [email protected] before the first day of first camp your child is registered for, or at the day of purchase of a course.

Summer Camp Specific Information
Participant Age
By purchasing this camp, you confirm that the participant of the camp will be between the ages of 10-16 by June 21, 2021.
For campers who will by 10 by the summer:
If you are pre-purchasing bundles of courses for your children and they are not yet 10 years old, as long as they turn that age at least one day before the camp starts, you are welcome to enroll them in that the bundle now.
-For example, if your child is 9 right now, but will be 10 by June 21, 2021, you may enroll them in any course listed for children 10 years old on our site.
-If your child is 9, but will be 10 by July 9, 2021, you may enroll them in any of the July or August camps, etc.
For campers who turn 17 during the summer:
If your child is 16 on June 1, 2021 but has a birthday during the summer camp months June 2- August 31, 2021, they may still participate in our camps. If your child turns 17 June 1, 2021 or before, they are not eligible for our camps at this time.
Parent Contact Information Required
When you sign your child up for summer camp, we require that a parent name, email, and phone number be provided in the event we need to contact you regarding your child's camp activity. This information is required to enroll a camper in our summer camp. If this information is not filled out correctly, it may result in termination of the camper’s spot if Camp Partridge cannot obtain the full information promptly.
We also request camper’s birthdays as we would like to celebrate with them. This information is optional.
Camp Spots: No sharing allowed
Sharing of camp spaces between campers, even in the same family, is prohibited, and may cause your child to lose their camp access without refund. Please see our Refund section for more details.
There are several reasons we require each camper to have their own camp spot.
First, by each camper having their own spot, it gives them their own customized access to their courses.
-they get their own login page
-they get their own camp completion page
-they can see and track their own personal camp progress (which helps them remember where they left off, and gives them incentive to finish)
- they have the opportunity to reflect on and engage with lessons through the Lesson Discussions
-they get their own access to their community groups
-they can interact with the community group as themselves
-they can share and receive feedback on their work each day, and so much more.
Second, our course instructor Ashley likes to get to know her campers. If multiple people were sharing the same camp spot and login for the Community Group,
-Ashely would not have the opportunity to get to know your camper individually.
- It would take away the opportunity for campers to interact in the Lesson Discussions to help them engage with the lessons and help cement the information learned.
-this would take away the true community feature that is one reason that sets the camps apart from other types of online camps
-It would also make connecting with other campers in the community group impossible.
We want all campers to have a great experience and to be able to connect with other members of our community. One camper per camp spot is one way to help ensure this.
Parents are welcome to monitor their child’s camp account to check progress and group interactions; but copying, sharing, demonstrating, or otherwise distributing any portion of the materials or videos in this course in part or in whole is strictly forbidden. Sharing any screenshots or screencasts of any portion of the camp, course, Lesson Discussion or Community Group is also strictly forbidden.
Community Groups & Lesson Discussions
Our camp instructor, Ashley, is a veteran teacher with 14 years of teaching experience. She will be engaging with campers on a weekly basis throughout the Summer 2021 camps from June 21- August 22, 2021, to help campers navigate the online camp experience, to connect with campers, and answer as many questions as she can, but Ashley will not be fully monitoring the closed Community Groups or Lesson Discussions attached to each course. (Unfortunately, Ashley cannot be hanging around the Community Group 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.)
Ashley will be involved in the different Community Groups and Lesson Discussions throughout each week (viewing posts and answering as many questions as possible several times throughout the day Monday-Friday) to help campers and will also take prompt action according to the policies here on our Terms of Service page if she is made aware of issues in the Community Groups.
Please be aware that camps may include access to a closed Community Group that is not fully moderated by Camp Partridge. By purchasing any of these camps, the purchaser assumes any risk resulting from the camper's participation in the closed group. Although Camp Partridge works hard to keep the camp a safe space, outside forces are sometimes at play. Parents agree to hold harmless Camp Partridge for other campers’ postings and for potential outside cyber-attacks to the community groups.
Camper Engagement
Campers are encouraged to, but not required to participate daily or weekly in our camp’s Community Group by posting their work, providing feedback to others, or by engaging in our icebreaker activities and prompts created by Ashley.
Once per week (at a time specified at the beginning of each camp) in each summer camp, our camp instructor Ashley will be available in a live chat (no video, chat only) to answer any questions campers may have from their learning.
For questions or feedback on projects during the week, campers can post a question or assignment any time in the camp's Community Group. Other campers may respond, as well as Ashley will respond to as many questions as possible throughout the week (Monday-Friday, between 9am and 4pm).
Although the camps are self-paced, campers will be provided general weekly reminders by Camp Partridge in the Community Group about camp completion. Campers may also be emailed directly if Camp Partridge notices a lack of camp completion during the month.
Some camp lessons may also have a Lesson Discussion thread enabled. This feature will allow for participants to post, comment and reply to others during specific lessons within the camp. This feature helps make our camps more interactive and enhance learning. We encourage campers to engage in Lesson Discussions as well as our Community Groups.
Required Additional Technology for Summer Camps
Each summer camp for 2021 requires additional pieces of technology, accounts, or specific apps in order to utilize all parts of each camp. All of the additional technology needed for each summer camp is listed on both our FAQ page and each camp page on our website.
Technology Age requirements
Camp Partridge is open for campers ages 10-16. Some apps and websites require users to be 13 or 16 years old to create accounts, access the material, or use the platform. In these instances, Camp Partridge will provide instruction on optional platforms that younger campers may use.
However, due to the ever-changing and easily updatable nature of technology, Camp Partridge’s age guidelines listed on our website for 3rd party apps, websites and services are not to be used as concrete infallible information, but as a guideline.
Parents who are purchasing camps or courses for participants under the age of 18 are responsible for checking to make sure the app or website their child is using is age appropriate.
External links
Most of the learning provided for our summer camps is through original instructional videos and handouts created by our camp instructor, Ashley.
Occasionally, campers may be directed to external links outside the closed Thinkific platform. Please know that these links are chosen with care to supplement and add to our camper's learning.
Note that when campers click on these external links, Camp Partridge is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and we encourage you to read their privacy statements. Once a camper leaves our course website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by our website’s Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.
Free Stock Photo Websites
Most of our summer camps require access to photos for camps that involve web design, for digital art reference, for compositing in photo editing programs, etc. There are many great free resources for quality free photos that campers may use that do not break copyright laws.
Camp Partridge will be sharing the following resources listed in this section to enable campers to find photos that are both free and copyright free. As each of these sites are image search sites, please decide with your child before camp starts which of the platforms below you are comfortable with them using.
Some of the websites below have age limits for using, and out of courtesy, I’ve listed them beside the websites below. Again, the age limits posted below are current as of the last update of this Terms of Service agreement and may have changed. Please visit the websites linked below to determine if they are right for your child.
Note: Campers are also welcome to take all their own photos for any projects, and do not have to use any of the sites listed below. These sites may simply make their work easier and may help them find photos they are unable to take.

This feature helps make our camps more interactive and enhance learning. We encourage campers to engage in Lesson Discussions as well as our Community Groups.
Required Additional Technology and Items for Fall Camps
Our Fall Novel Writing Camps don’t require much additional technology or materials, but a few things are needed to access the camp and be successful. All of the additional technology and materials needed for the camp is listed on the FAQ page of our website.
Most of the learning provided for our fall camps is through original instructional videos and handouts created by our camp instructor, Ashley.
